Less Drama, Fewer Neighbors, More Dinosaurs
There are moments in life when you look around and realize that everything is about to change.
For Server 670, that moment arrives on September 25th.
The migration gates will open, suitcases will be packed, HQs will be loaded onto suspiciously large trucks, and quite a few familiar names will disappear from our map. And I have to admit: I have mixed feelings about it.
On the one hand, some of the people leaving are exactly the people I won’t particularly miss. You know the type.
The players who apparently downloaded Last Z because “Mobile Zombie Strategy Game” sounded too peaceful and they desperately needed somewhere to continue their career in international diplomacy, psychological warfare and unnecessary drama.
Some of the bullies are leaving.
And somewhere on Server 670, a tiny violin is playing.
… Very, very quietly.
The Strange Price of Peace
But there is another side to this. A lot of players will leave.
Especially players from some of the larger alliances.
And whether we liked them, hated them, fought them, farmed them, argued with them, blocked them, unblocked them, or simply watched them shouting at each other in World Chat while eating popcorn — they were part of 670.
They created activity.
They created competition.
They created stories.
Okay, admittedly, some of those stories could have been avoided with basic communication skills and perhaps professional therapy.
But still.
When they leave, the server will become quieter.
Maybe more peaceful.
Maybe friendlier.
But also emptier.
There is something strangely bittersweet about finally getting the peaceful neighborhood you always wanted… only to discover that half the houses are now empty.
Goodbye Ice. Hello Dinosaurs.
And because simply losing a significant part of the population apparently wasn’t enough change, Last Z has decided that this is also the perfect moment to throw us into Season 3.
We survived the ice.
We survived frozen monsters.
We survived snow leopards.
Now?
Dinosaurs.
Because obviously that is the logical next step. Nothing says “fresh start” quite like watching half your server migrate away while a Tyrannosaurus rex moves into the neighborhood. Server 670 is basically undergoing urban renewal, except the new residents have teeth.
For Some, an Ending. For Others, an Opportunity.
Migration will mean different things to different people.
Some are leaving because they want stronger alliances, bigger servers or new opportunities.
Some will finally escape people they’ve been fighting with for months.
Some alliances may shrink dramatically. Others may suddenly have room to grow.
Players who have spent months living in the shadow of the biggest alliances might discover that the map looks very different when those shadows disappear.
New friendships may form.
New alliances may rise.
Old enemies might suddenly realize:
“Wait… there are only twelve of us left. Should we maybe stop fighting?”
It could be the beginning of something genuinely good.
670 Will Be Different
I don’t think Server 670 will die.
But it will change.
There will probably be fewer people.
Less noise.
Less competition in some areas.
And hopefully considerably less drama.
We may lose some of the chaos that made the server feel alive. But perhaps we’ll gain something else in return: a chance to build a server where people can compete without constantly trying to destroy each other outside the actual game.
And maybe Season 3 is exactly the right moment for that.
A new map.
A new season.
New mechanics.
New alliances.
New opportunities.
…And dinosaurs.
Lots of dinosaurs.
So on September 25th, some people will pack their virtual bags and leave Server 670 behind.
To those friends who are leaving: good luck on your new servers. You will be missed.
To everyone staying: this is our chance to write the next chapter of 670.
And to a very small number of departing individuals…
Well….
Safe travels.
Please make sure you have your passport, your migration ticket, and all of your belongings.
The dinosaurs need the space.
Welcome to Season 3, Server 670.
Population: slightly questionable.
Drama level: hopefully declining.
Dinosaur level: increasing rapidly.
